MALLORY KEEKS, MA, LPC, ATR
I’m so grateful you’re here! My name is Mallory (she/her) and I am an art therapist, counselor, and human who believes we can find healing and become our authentic selves through being seen and heard by others. It is my goal to partner with you, to imagine and be curious, and wade through the uncertainty together. I believe that you are the expert of your experience, and therefore that therapy should be a collaborative and authentic process every step of the way.
My journey to becoming a counselor was a bit of a labyrinth. My undergraduate education is in Business Administration; but I always knew I wanted to do two things: be creative, and be with people. Before graduating, I began apprenticing as a tattoo artist, and then worked as a licensed professional tattoo artist for a few years. I deeply enjoyed all the connections I made with clients when tattooing, and decided to go back to school to become a therapist. I graduated from Drexel University with my MA in Art Therapy & Counseling in 2018.
I’m passionate about supporting people through recovery from disordered eating, trauma integration, and helping folks reconnect and find peace with their bodies. I have specialized training in the treatment of disordered eating and body image concerns, working with LGBTQIA+ folks (including providing letters for gender affirming treatment), and processing medical trauma. I love working with neurodiverse people, people living with chronic illness, empaths, thinkers, creatives, artists, and makers.
(You can learn more about my approach to therapy here.)
Alongside being a therapist, I love spending time with my family, friends, and animals. I enjoy taking care of my plants, trying new cuisines, swimming, connecting with my community, and watching documentaries. I love hot beverages, and you’ll often catch me in sessions with a mug of tea or coffee.
I look forward to meeting you and would be honored to be a part of your story.
FRIDA
Frida is a 5 1/2-year-old rough collie and therapy dog who worked with Mallory for in-person sessions from Spring 2019 to Spring 2020, and Spring 2021 to early 2024. Now that the practice is back to fully virtual, she is enjoying “funemployment” and making cameos on video appointments! You may also meet Frida’s younger collie sister Simone, and her two cat siblings, Udon and Soba.
